Digestion and Type 2 Diabetes

Believe it or not there is a link between digestion and type 2 diabetes. If you are lactose intolerant or have difficulty digesting food there is a 50 percent chance that you will develop type 2 diabetes. The presumed reason for this is the inefficiency of the pancreas. The pancreatic enzymes aren’t doing the job that is required. In other words issues with digestion in an otherwise healthy person is a predictor of blood sugar problems to come.

Poor digestion symptoms include bloating and gas after eating and frequent diarrhea. Most clinicians ignore these symptoms unless the patient is losing weight. If you are experiencing this and are otherwise healthy don’t be afraid to discuss this with your physician. There is a test that can diagnose an inefficient digestive enzyme system.
